For the first task was to make a front cover for a magazine and the topic was music. Then we had to decide as a group what type of genre our magazine should be. We needed to pick something that we were all familiar with and we decided to use R&B as out genre. We brainstormed our ideas about what we could do for the magazine and then we decided what we would do. The slogan of our magazine is Real Music, Real Artists, Real Vibez the slogan is very catchy and it make you fill like its the thing for you.One of the hardiest thing was what should our magazine should be called. The suggestion that we had was “Nick up, London Life and UK Vibez” and we decided to go with UK Vibez. We also had to decide what colours we need to use and how these colours would attract our audience young audience because our magazine is aimed for teenager’s ages 15 to 20+ years old. The language of the magazine is simple and easy to read so everyone can read.
Our magazine is aimed for both genders male and female and we had to think what type of pictures, text and colour that we could use to attract the audience. We went for bright colours and we decided not to wear dark clothes. also the title UK VIBEZ is written in big yellow text and it stood out well with the other colours. The only dark thing in the picture was the free CD we also used black text on top of it was the opposite of all the other colours so it stood out weal. We looks at what type of star we should use in the front cover that our target audience really want to hear about and the star they idolise so went for Leona Lewis .
In the cover we used cover our own pictures for example we used Leon Lewis because she is a famous British R&B star we tried to focus only on the British celebrities. Also we used Shabaze in our front cover the picture looked like a real R&B star he was our focus we had another picture of him with me and used this picture to show the theme of the tune it is called walking away and we are walking away in the picture so it all fits in wall. Also in the front cover picture looks like he is sad and that is also an advertisement for the song. On the CD we have nick standing next to the car because most celebrities want show of what they have so we took a picture next to a Porsche I also took a picture next to the car.
We didn’t take a lot of pictures and we didn’t have a wide range of choices so we where stack with the pictures that we got. The reason was that the battery of the cammer was empty so couldn’t take more pictures. We tried to show our understanding and skills by editing some of the pictures photo shop it was quite easy to use after the teacher went throw it with us.
The places that will sale our magazine is any newsagents or supermarkets such as Sainsbury, Morison’s, Tesco and so on will they all will have our magazine. Also we try and advertise this magazine in all music channels and advertise it in the internet with music web sites. Also they other thing that could attract the audience is that we will offer them all the gossip about that celebrities.
We have learnt a lot about using the camera and the type of shots and we gained confidents. The group was really good we worked good together.

UK Vibez Magazine Evaluation
As part of our task we had to create and produce a magazine containing a fully edited front cover. The magazine genre we had to do is music genre. There are many institutions that are similar to my magazine which are XXL, Vibe and many others. I believe that these are institutions will publish my magazines because they will be looking to add fresh flavour to their current trend of magazines.
Before we created my magazine we had to research the magazine industry. We explored various music genres of magazines. After exploring various magazines we identified many conventions such as images, masthead and a cover lines. The techniques which we identified were eye catching and appealing to the audience so we decided to adopt similar conventions in the magazine which we created.
Our intended audience for this magazine is aimed at both the male and female gender. This is because due to our own knowledge. We know that music are enjoyed by both male and female gender. Also there are a wide range of music which can be aimed at one gender or both male and female. The magazine we have created will be intended at the teenage age and above. The economical background of my audience is aimed at the working class. This is because as my magazine is a UK underground orientated magazine it is more likely to be of interest to this class. Our main audience for the magazine we have created are regular music-lovers and those who wish to pursue a career in the music industry.
We decided to create a music magazine which orientates the UK hip hop/RnB scene. This is because we believe this music genre is the front runner in UK music. Also because our group have great understanding of this genre and we feel that this genre is more simplistic compared to others.
After hand drawing our magazine we used a computer to create the magazine. Before we started to create our magazine we uploaded the pictures we took for the magazine on to the computer. To create the magazine we used the PaintShop Pro software. This software allowed us to bring realism to the magazine and helped us severely in editing the magazine.
The front cover of our magazine is named "UK Vibez". We chose this name because we believe that the name indicates our passion for UK and the "z" in the word "Vibez" adds flavour and edginess to the magazine. The UK Vibez title is in bright bold yellow which allows the title to stand out in the magazine. The slogan of our magazine is Real Music, Real Artists, Real Vibez. We chose this slogan because we believe that our magazine covers artists that are passionate towards music and not in the industry for finance and fame. Our secondary slogan is "UK Hip-Hop on the rise,New UK RnB topping the world charts!". The two slogans with the second slogan being in bold. we chose this colour because we believe it is visibly clear on top of the background. Our magazine price is 99p. We chose this price because our target audience is the working class and by having a fairly reasonable price, we believe that it will be beneficial to our magazine. The background of our magazine is an image of RnB star "Shabzy". We chose this image to be our background because Shabzy is our main focus in this issue of our magazine. There are other images which are located in the magazine. Firstly there is an image of "DJ Tarek" a DJ who plans to revive his career. Secondly an image of "Shabzy and DJ Tarek" walking away which is reference to their brand new single "Walking Away". Lastly there is an image of RnB superstar Leona Lewis who has risen to world wide fame over the year. The main article of our magazine is the "Exclusive Interview With Shabzy". This is our main article because the RnB star has found nation wide fame since recently entering the music industry. Our secondary article is a review of Leona Lewis. This article will look into the life of the RnB star. The freebie of our magazine is a free copy of "UK Vibez Vol.1" CD. We chose this freebie because we believe this will eye catch the readers attention as a such a valuable item is being given.
In conclusion, I believe that I am satisfied with our production of a music magazine. This is because i believe the magazine seems purchasable and will appeal to our intended target audience. I believe that the background image contrasts positively with the text. If I were to make another front cover in future I will take advantage of the editing tools more wisely. Also I will try to establish the main articles more specifically so the reader will have a greater understanding of the story.

Our magazine cover
We started out with simple idea - to create a teenage orientated UK r&b magazine. After brainstorming a few ideas, we carried out our own photo shoot, capturing various images that we would later use as visual aid for our magazine cover. The next step was to learn our way around photoshop, a fairly alien program to us, having had no prior experience in it's use. After choosing our main image, we proceeded to add in other various pictures, edit, and finally add text explaining the purpose.

Magazine analysis
'Rock Sound' is a magazine clearly aimed for a rock audience, most likely in the younger generation, aimed around the ages 15 - 24. Incorporating bright colors with upbeat, pleasant images, 'Rock Sound' definitely gives of a strong 'indie' vibe, and would clearly appeal to this type of audience. Whilst the focus of the magazine is clearly orientated towards the band 'The Automatic', there is lots more information packed in, almost in a a sort of messy style. This reflects the overall vibe of 'Rock Sound' in general, messy, untidy, and in many ways defiant; all aspects of the typical rock genre.
As a banner, 'Rock Sound' offers the prospect of 'massive posters', this would specifically appeal to teenagers looking to decorate their room, and helps greatly in deciding upon the audience that the magazine is aimed towards. The slogan 'Music with attitude' also gives off the impression that 'Rock Sound' is aimed towards a teenage audience, teens have always been associated with rebelion, and attitude falls under this category.
